NDA extends the deadline for 75th Regular Course applications

Please be advised that the application deadline for the NDA 75th Regular Combatant Course has been extended to March 21, 2023, for both prospective and current applicants. The portal would reopen for the selection of Test Centers from March 22 to March 29, 2023. To prevent missing out, everyone who plans to apply or hasn't finished their application should do so by March 21st, 2023. Also, applicants should be aware that center selection will be available to everyone who submits an application successfully; no additional invitations will be sent out in this regard.

Notice from UNIJOS regarding the return to school

The University Senate had already authorized the suspension of academic activities from Monday, February 20, 2023, to Sunday, March 19, 2023, in light of the conduct of the 2023 General Elections, as members of the University community will recall. Moreover, Senate agreed that the start date for the second semester lectures for the 2020–2021 academic session would be March 20, 2023. However, because the results of the House of Assembly and Governor elections in Plateau State have yet to be announced, members of the university community are hereby advised that classes will resume as usual on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Members of the University Community are advised to note and comply accordingly.

The ATBU Senate has accepted the updated academic calendar for the second semester of 2021–2022.

This is to let the students know that the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa administration has announced the Second Semester Senate Approved Revised Academic Calendar for the 2021–2022 Academic Session. The Undergraduate students will start classes again on March 21, 2023. Beginning on March 25, 2023, all undergraduates who register late will be subject to a fee. Lessons begin on March 23.

Notice from FUAZ regarding refusal of entrance

The management of the University once again observed that some candidates who have been admitted Into the university for the 2022/2023 academic session are yet to visit the university portal to accept the admission and subsequently register as a bona fide students. Premised on the forgoing, the management is calling on all prospective candidates who applied for admission into the University to check for the status of their admission on JAMB portal. Successful candidates who have been admitted are to visit the university portal http://fuaz.edu.ng for acceptance of admission, payment of fees and course registration in earnest. Any candidates who fail to accept the admission or register as a bona fide students on or before Friday 24th March 2023 will be considered to have forfeited his/her admission.

In Kogi, gunmen attack INEC officials, leaving six corps members missing.

As gunmen attacked six Hummer buses carrying employees of the Independent National Electoral Commission, two active corps members and four ex-corps members who served as ad hoc staff during the March 18 governorship and house assembly elections in Kogi state have been reported missing. On Sunday, March 19, 2023, at around two in the morning, an incident happened in Obajana that resulted in gunshot wounds to a number of officials, including police officers and drivers. One of the drivers, who was shot in the leg, claimed that they were attacked by the gunmen as they were returning to Lokoja from Abujor Camp with the results of the House of Assembly election. SSANU requests that the FG reimburse their unpaid earned allowances.

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has once more requested that the Federal Government pay the universities and inter-university centers the N50 billion in unpaid earned allowances. After its 43rd Regular National Executive Council meeting in Katsina state, the union issued the appeal. The NEC, according to Mohammed Ibrahim, the national president of the SSANU, has noticed the long overdue delay in the payment of the unpaid N50 billion earned allowances, and they are pleading with the government to keep their word and not break their commitments to prevent industrial disputes in the system.
