ABSTRACT
This system provides online comprehensive solution for providing online registration services for Mathematics and Computer Science students, their courses and other registration procedural requirements. The system dedicates its resources to becoming the best Tertiary institution web based portal for students. The resources included in the portal were made with accuracy and efficiency in mind since the system is deemed to surpass the manual process in both simplicity and accuracy.
As most nations of the world are becoming information technology inclined, Nigeria is not left behind. Even as most organizations and companies in the foreign countries have implemented information technology in their registration processes, likewise most of Nigeria’s organizations and companies as well as schools have also enjoyed the benefits of information technology. With the communication satellite launched recently in our country will explore the hidden treasure of information technology. As I consider the design and implementation of online student registration system, it is necessary to mention here that information technology have a lot to play in achieving this. Implementing online student registration system entails having access to internet, having a website and the place of strong and reliable database cannot be over emphasized.

INTRODUCTION
Registration processes has always characterized the presence of any gathering or audience either for academic reasons, employment or religious purposes. It is as a result of these and more incessant need for registrations that the process should be made the most efficient and reliable.
Education encompasses our lives. It is the foundation of our society. Education helps to stimulate our minds and mold inquisitive minds into intellectuals. Higher learning takes the intellect to the next level, providing a deeper understanding of the world around us. We use the education and higher learning resources below to learn more about our world, its education systems, and its benefits of higher learning. With environmental awareness on the rise, so many resources are now available to help transition your school to a greener place. The most important way to move your school towards positive changes for the environment is by educating. Once students and teachers alike become more informed and aware, the necessary changes will be easier to implement and will hold more promise for staying in place.
Societies have always sought to educate their people to be productive and creative, and to satisfy their curiosity and aesthetic impulses. This has only happened when people acquired reliable knowledge and think systematically. Education has appeared in many forms, both formalized and informal. Major thinkers have always recognized the educational value of intellectual exploration and of concrete experimentation.
Major advances in education occurred throughout the world in the 20th century as school and college curricula have kept students abreast of developments in science and technology. Student admissions are a vital part of any Tertiary institution’s running because students are what keep a Tertiary institution alive. The student registrationis one of the most important activities within a Tertiary institution as one cannot survive without students. A poor admissions system can mean fewer students being admitted into a Tertiary institution because of mistakes or an overly slow response time and student also feel very nervous after getting registrationin bad Tertiary institution due to lack of registrationprocess knowledge. For all things, it is necessary that one get much educated about online registrationprocess and this is only possible when they will choose best system for admission.
- STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The difficulty and stress students pass through during registration processes in tertiary institution is a serious problem that needs to be nipped on the bud a soon as possible. It is as a result of this that this work is determined to produce a system that would greatly reduce the rigors of students’ registration process by making the process an online based system with efficiency and accuracy in mind through a web based portal platform assessable over the internet.
- PURPOSE OF STUDY
The web based Registration System is designed to computerize Tertiary institution registration process for Mathematics and Computer Science departments precisely. Its basic objectives are to extend their reach to globally scattered students, reducing time in activities, centralized data handling and paperless registrationwith reduced manpower. Its other factors are cost cutting, operational efficiency, consist view of data and integration with other institutions. Main challenges are effectively sync internal and external operations in such a manner that job can be finished within time limit and integration with different agencies on an agreed upon common data format.
- SCOPE OF STUDY
The scope of this work is directly based on the web based portal for student registration exercise process of Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET). The scope allows the study the opportunity to review the importance and advantages to be achieved if the registration processed is successfully implemented on online basis.
1.4 CONSTRAINTS
This project will be limited to the data available at hand, data outside the researcher will not be made use of.
The limitations militating against this research are financial constraints, time factor and other circumstances.
- ASSUMPTIONS
Accuracy, efficiency and reliability must be associated with any student registration processing system for effectiveness reasons.
