ABSTRACT
This project is a study on the use and influence of information technology (ICT) in enhancing Office Technology and Management. As a researcher, the research was conducted using questionnaires, library tools and internet as tools for getting and gathering of information, and simple percentage was used in analyzing the data that was collected. This study reveals that Information Communication Technology (ICT) has a positive effect and influence in Office Technology and Management and that there are equipment that are actively involved in the communication process which helps boost communication system and finally there are ways or techniques of solving the problems caused by Information Communication Technology (ICT).

- BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Information technology is everywhere; in this day and age and adding to communication technology, the possibility of how it can be used is endless. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) involves the use of hardware, software and telecommunication devices to store, manipulate, convert, protect, send and receive data (Olifer and Olifer, 2006).
Computer and technological devices have made it easier for professionals to collect, store, manipulate and share data and information both individually and within organizations, small, large, public and private.
Information Communication Technology has become an integral part of human daily activities that sometimes we barely notice its effect and has had a major impact on the way we live, work and play. The way information communication to office technology is changing dramatically over the past few years. The use of networking in technology helps very much in sharing information across the hotels in chain. The growth in the use of networked computers is one of the most significant trends in modern computing. Though, interconnection of computers in itself is not new, application of networking is seeing a dramatic increase such that it is now one of the major issues in Computer and Information Technology (Richie, 2003).
Computers are presently widely used in sectors such as banking, education, health, commerce, agriculture, transport, communication. Computers in business operations could be used for typing documents, keeping and retrieving information, data analysis, sending and receiving information over short and long distances. Computers are becoming popular in business because work done by them could be very fast, thus result in increasing productivity, accurate in performance repetitive task, store information safely in relatively small space (Olifer and Olifer, 2006).
In a bid to conquer this, many institutions of higher learning have upgraded their curriculum to include computer and information technology courses to prepare their students for challenges ahead in the labour market.
The advent of information technology is one that stretches the geographical expenses of communication such that too individuals in extreme part of the world can communicate through mail, teleconference, satellite broadcast and cable television.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) marks the departure from manual operation to highly sophisticated machines in offices, which resulted in speedy and effective productivity.
The American Heritage Dictionary of English Language (1995) says that the most potent symbols of technological changes in history of human society are the introduction of information technology. One of the most effects of information technology across the globe.
Communication according to Ekpeyoung (1999) is the process through which a channel to the receiver who understands it and gives a feedback.

The most popular used device in Office Technology and Management is Information Communication Technology, it has come to enhance office works in all ramifications. Information Communication Technology helps to improve Office Technology and Management in different ways like office of a secretary, office technologist and accountant. This helps the accountant to store accounting information and thus be more efficient and effective. It helps Office Technology and Management to be more organized and efficient because it helps to store the entire document in her possession and retrieve them when needed.
It also helps the Office Technology and Management to pass information that is needed without standing or going out of the office. The advent of Information Communication Technology has made it possible to discuss business or transaction of information everywhere.
- STATEMENT OF THE STUDY
In this research work, the statement of problem is that the facilities used in teaching this skilled course is not adequate and thereby the impactation is not been felt by Office Technology and Management students.
- SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The basis for this study is the use and influence of Information Communication Technology in enhancing Office Technology and Management. The importance are; the provision of Information Communication Technology facilities or devices for Office Technology and Management offices which will enhance easy and faster productivity. It will also facilitate quality communication to Office Technology and Management and Information Communication Technology to Office Technology and Management programmes will enhance skill acquisition and prepare students and teachers for world of works.
- PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study is to determine the use and influence of Information Communication Technology in enhancing Office Technology and Management. Specifically, it is to;
- Determine if there is any device or adequate facilities in Office Technology and Management programmes.
- Find out the extent of utilizing Information Communication Technology facilities in Office Technology and Management laboratory.
- Determine the level of impact of Information Communication Technology has been felt.
- Determine whether these Information Communication Technology facilities are actually available.

- LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
In this study, a lot of problems hampered my effort to achieve my aims. This is as a result of non-chalant attitude of some of the respondents, time constraints and also financial constraints were the limitation of this research work.

The study intends to restricts its research to Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, it is worth mentioning that the study will pay more attention to Information Communication Technology to Office Technology and Management that is the computer assisted institutions.
