The eight Madonna University students who died in a car accident while traveling home from Elele, Rivers state to Taraba State have been laid to rest.  The accident which claimed the lives of the youngsters happened at the TTC/Special Science School junction, Abakaliki in Ebonyi on Saturday, February 18. JAMB registers 1.6 million UTME candidates, Direct Entry registration begins

A recent update on the ongoing JAMB UTME registration for 2023 reveals that about 1.6 million candidates have been registered so far. This was made known by the Registrar of the Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede at the end of a joint monitoring exercise with the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr David Adejo, in Abuja on Monday. The total number of registered candidates is expected to be made know after the deadline on February 22nd, 2023. NECO releases 2022 GCE results – See checking instructions and performance statistics

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the result of the November/December 2022 SSCE (NECO GCE). This was announced by the Registrar of NECO, Prof Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, in Minna, Niger state. A total of 59,124 candidates were said to have taken part in the exam; 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent and 27,808 females, representing 47.03 per cent. Further disclosure showed that out of the 58,012 candidates that sat English Language, 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent got Credit and above, while out of 57,700 candidates that sat Mathematics 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent got Credit and above. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has announced the release of the results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates (WAEC GCE), 2022- Second Series.  It was reported that 77,768 candidates registered for the examination, while Seventy-Three Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty-Four (73,424) candidates sat the examination at Six Hundred and Thirty-Eight (638) centres spread across the nooks and crannies of the country. JAMB extends e-PIN vending for 2023 UTME till Feb 20th, registration continues till Feb. 22nd

JAMB has announced the extension of the 2023 UTME registration deadline. This is contained in a statement made available by the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol of the board, Fabian Benjamin. According to him, the sales of ePINs would now end on Monday, 20 February, while the UTME registration would end on Wednesday, 22 February. Benjamin mentioned that the extension becomes necessary following reports from across the country indicating some difficulties being faced by many Nigerians in using electronic channels to purchase the ePINs or obtain cash readily within the stipulated period. The extension is therefore to ensure that all candidates who desired to register for the 2023 UTME were given the opportunity to do so especially when the extant challenges were not of their own making.
