  • Making beds, changing pillows, pillows, linens towels also checking for breakage as well as any other spoilt item(s).
  • Reporting maintenance issues to the supervisor on time for quick actions to be taken.
  • Dusting and vacuuming to keep the hotel dust free.
  • Restocking guest room amenities needed for the guests.
  • Following all safety protocols and regulations to avoid casualties.
  • Performing other related duties as required for the general well-being of the hotel.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Good Communication Skills. The individual should know how to communicate, and express himself or herself.
  • Fluency in Spoken English Canada is an English-speaking country (though some speak French) the individual should have a good command of Spoken English to be able to communicate with the guest and co-workers.
  • Individuals should have great work ethics, be diligent, and ever ready to discharge their duties.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team, having a positive attitude towards work.
  • The applicant should be experienced in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Having the legal backing to work in Canada (work permit).

One of the challenges that come with being a housekeeper is that you will stand for long hours. This means that anyone hoping to work as one must possess physical stamina and energy to be up and running and also be able to lift heavy materials too (in some cases). They should also understand that they’ll be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions therefore, they should be physically fit to do the job and not have health challenges of any kind.
